About

I teach history and sociology of science and technology. I am currently working in a research on the construction of transport infrastructure in Latin America. I belong to the "North-South Techno-scientific Exchanges Network". We are concerned with the problem of technology transfer as a means to set political and social (North-South and South-South) relations in the international arena. The network is formed by teams in Colombia (ADGA et al.), México (Prof. Gisela Mateos Luis Sánchez Graillet et al., UNAM) and Brasil (Prof. Olival Freire et al., U. Salvador, Bahía), with teams in each of these countries. Groups and researchers interested in glocal history of technology/infrastructure are welcome to get in touch.

My doctoral dissertation was (illegally) translated and published in Pakistan and can be purchased there and in London: Alexis De Greiff. Doctor Abdussalam aur unki scienci khidma (Lahore: Naya Zamana Publications, 2010)

My new book "A las puertas del universe derrotado" (Bogotá: Editorial de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, 2012), explores  the exclusion and inclusion of scientists in "pre-polemic" scenarios, focusing in a history of defeated theories.

I served as Vice-Rector of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (2004-2006) and as Deputy-Director at the National Department of Science, Technology and Innovation - Colciencias (2008-2011).
